How a gym cut AED 12,000/month in wasted ads — and still grew signups.

Broad-match search ads were eating budget with no negatives and a weak landing page. Account restructure, call tracking, and creative tests cut waste while signups rose.

The challenge

The gym’s Google Ads account used broad match on generic fitness terms. Clicks came from outside the catchment area. The landing page asked for a phone number only — no membership tiers, no trial CTA, no proof.

What we did

  • Restructured campaigns by intent: trial, membership, and class packs.
  • Added negatives, geo radius, and schedule aligned to staffed hours.
  • Rebuilt the landing page with tiers, social proof, and a clear trial CTA.
  • Installed call tracking and weekly creative tests on Meta for remarketing.

The results

−AED 12k
Ad spend / month
+9%
Signups
−58%
Cost per signup

Spend fell by AED 12,000 per month while signups rose. Cost per signup more than halved because irrelevant clicks disappeared and the page finally converted.

What made it work

  • Gym ads fail when geography and intent are loose.
  • A clearer offer beats a bigger budget.
  • Call tracking stops “leads” that were never real conversations.

“We pay less and sign more members. That is the whole brief.”
